Is lack of vision causing our own declining enrollment problem?
+ 817 North Van students attend public school in West Van; up almost 50% since 2006
+ 774 attend independent school in West Van
+ 2056 attend independent school in North Van
3647 students, or 18% of students living in NVSD, are looking outside the district’s public system for education.
What does this mean? It means close to $22,000,000 of education funding left our district for private school and public schools in West Vancouver public alone. No wonder we’re closing schools and cutting programs.
