Ruby Slippers

Ruby Slippers Theatre has flung open the door to many theatrical adventures over our twenty years. A scroll through the shows that Ruby Slippers Theatre has produced, created, presented or co-produced illuminates a sanguine spirit that has made countless contributions to the vibrant theatre scene we now experience in Vancouver.

Ruby Slippers Theatre has also mentored emerging artists by having a residency program, commissioning works and presenting works. These artists include Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg, Tracey Power, and James Long.

Co-founder and Artistic Director Diane Brown is thrilled with the company's ongoing evolution and dynamism, and particularly with the high calibre of artists that are always eager to collaborate with the company. Over twenty years, Ruby Slippers Theatre productions have received 52 Jessie Richardson Theatre nominations. In the past five years alone, we have garnered 21 nominations and 10 awards. Known for taking artistic risks with socially relevant and infectiously entertaining productions, 2008/09 promises to pack a punch!
